It all started when...

Dr. Aimee Heidt grew up in the Waterford/Clifton Park area and knew at a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian.

In 2003, that dream came true and she graduated from Ross Veterinary University.  She immediately moved back to the Capital District and started her first job at Lansingburgh and Aqueduct Animal Hospitals.   After her time at those clinics, she changed to a more rural setting and worked at Battenkill Veterinary for 11 years.

In 2017, a change was needed to spend time with her family and she took a 3 month sabbatical.  During that time, she realized that she needed to follow her heart and find a better option for herself and her family.

That was when she decided on becoming a mobile veterinarian.  LaBoit Specialty Vehicles was able to make her huge dream come to life and created a spectacular mobile clinic.  With this clinic, Dr. Aimee is able to offer a unique service and experience to our community.  In the summer of 2017, she added onto this vision by becoming Fear Free certified.

With her Fear Free certification, Dr. Aimee believes that veterinary care can be less stressful for pets and their owners.

With mobile veterinary medicine, we eliminate many of the common stressors that affect our pets when it is time to visit the vet.  Examples are dogs who get sick in the car ride, cats who are afraid to get in the carrier, strange animals and smells at the vet clinic, and the traditional "white coat syndrome".

Our hospital vision is to make sure all of our kitties and canine companions receive health care, even if they can't travel.

The Heidt family is full invested in this business and you may very well meet/speak to her husband Trevor who runs the vehicle maintenance and back office.   The kids love to help spread the word (they are the cutest advertisements!) and sometimes will be along for the ride depending on school.

We hope to meet your family soon!
